Ian first started flying with South Warwickshire Flying School in 1999 where he obtained his Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL).   Following a thirty-year career in IT and Management Consulting roles, Ian transitioned to Flight Instructor as a full-time role and is available on a Thursday and Friday every week to support student pilots.  From Monday through to Wednesday, Ian trains Flying Instructors with a fellow organisation at Wellesbourne.

When not flying, he enjoys caravanning breaks with his wife Karen and their two very lively Labradoodles. Ian is also very active in charity work, supporting the Coventry Leofric branch of Lions Clubs International.

Ian holds a Commercial Pilots licence with Flight Instructor-Instructor (FIC), IR(R) and Night ratings, and has completed a course in formation flying.  He was appointed a Flight Examiner in 2018.
