The Night Rating Course

If the privileges of the Private Pilot’s licence are to be exercised at night.  The training requirements is as follows:

A course of a minimum of five (5) hours flight time in aeroplanes shall be completed at night comprising of three (3) hours of dual instruction including at least one (1) hour of cross-country navigation and five (5) solo take-offs and five (5) solo full-stop landings.  Appropriate ground school to accompany the flying training is provided at the start of the course.

This training may only be carried out once a PPL(A) or LAPL(A) has been issued.  The course does not require any theoretical examination or flight test to be completed for the issue of the rating.
