Dr Guy Wakeley comes from a military family with both his parents having served in the British Army during his upbringing.  He holds an MA in Engineering Science from Cambridge and a PhD in Applications of Artificial Intelligence to Engineering Design from Newcastle.  He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and a Financial Conduct Authorities Approved Person.  He is a Commercial Pilot, Flying Instructor and CAA Commercial and Instrument Rating Flight Examiner.

Guy’s former appointments were Chief Executive of Morrisons plc and he has held divisional leadership positions with Amey plc, The Berkeley Group, General Electric and Rolls-Royce.  He is a non-executive Director of HgCapital Trust plc and a member of the CBI’s Public Services Strategy Board.

Guy’s last appointment was Chief Executive of Equinity plc (where he was instrumental on floating the company on the UK Stock Market).

Guy was appointed the Chief Executive of Reconomy Group in January 2023.  He owns and flies a Piper Seneca twin-engined aeroplane for business and pleasure.  Guy also owns and provides the School with both our touring Piper Warrior aeroplanes.
